These were not available when I purchased my SkyDrop in 2016. As mentioned previously, SkyDrop can inadvertently be switched on inside the rucksack so the pocket is an essential item.

Mandatory!

As a SkyDrop can be started by pressing a button, and this could happen in a bag, this semi-rigid pocket is mandatory to avoid empty battery on takeoff problems!

You are right, therefore every SkyDrop comes in hard shell pocket. We anyway don't recommend to leave any instruments in bag inside of full loaded takeoff van.
